As stated in my “About Me”, I will graduate college in December. For the past few years, I have known this, but I have not made any plans for after graduation. I always assumed I would get a job teaching soon after graduation. I thought I might take a semester off to hang out/ travel, but ultimately start looking for a job right after graduation. This whole plan went out the window when I heard about the World Race..
I first heard about The World Race about a year ago; one of my friends met some people on a route last summer. I thought it would be a great experience but never thought I would be doing it. The next time I heard about it was this past May. After doing missions in China, I came back to find out one of my friends had been accepted to the WR. Yet again, I thought it would be a life changing experience, but it never crossed my mind that I would be doing it. I would love to travel, but that seemed like so much money to raise. Shortly after our conversation, I ventured off to Colorado to work at a Christian ranch for the summer. This was my third summer there. God seems to pull me away from all the craziness in my life and bring me peace and stillness while I am at the ranch. Each summer he seems to speak to me in new ways. This summer, I had a reoccuring theme of the World Race. I heard about the World Race countless times within the next month. At the same time, one of my bosses told a devotion about following your passions to see if God would open doors for you to continue down that path. I was encouraged to pursue this opportunity with the World Race and see what God had planned. On Wednesday I filled out my application, on Thursday I submitted it, on Friday (after a lot of prayer and God’s provision) I paid the application fee and by the next Tuesday I had an interview. It blew my mind that in one week I went from not having a clue what I was doing with my life after graduation to traveling the wolrd with a bunch of stranger while sharing the gospel!
God is good, and He has a PERFECT plan for our lives!!!!
