Hey guys! Just wanted to send a quick update and let you know that presently our squad is in Galway, Ireland having our debrief. We are camping out here until the 6th. Ireland has definitely been nice to see! 🙂 It’s SO cold, rainy and windy here! We definitely weren’t expecting such a temperature drop BUT, it’s actually been kinda nice seeing as how we’ve been in scorching heat the last 2 months :).
Since arriving we’ve been able to debrief with our squad coaches (also known as our squad parents 😉 ), Tom and Cindy Sipling. They flew in from South Africa where they are fulltime missionaries. It has been such a blessing spending time with them these past couple days. They have found a balance of encouraging and challenging us that is vital to our growth as individuals, teams, and a squad. We all love them so much!!
Also, we have been SO blessed by Kaleb’s parents since arriving here! Kaleb’s parents are fulltime missionaries here and have been SO generous and welcoming. We went to their church on Sunday and afterwards they invited us into their home for lunch and dinner. We all kept joking how it felt like Thanksgiving! It was SO NICE to have a home cooked meal and be in a warm cozy home!! Mrs. Poth (Kaleb’s mom) pretty much kept goodies and snacks out all day for us…..I think I ate about 5 million cookies and rice crispy treats! haha. It has been so wonderful to have them here.
From here we will be traveling to Romania……not sure yet exactly where our team will be in Romania but I will let you know when I do know :).
