I know we’re nearly half way through September already (which is crazy because that means there’s only like 35 days before training camp), but I feel like I’m still processing all that was August.

You were rough, August, and you served up A LOT of humbleberry pie.

Half way through July, I started working 10-hour days in order to pay off some debts before the race and have extra funds on hand to pay for race stuff. After just two weeks of overtime, I was overstressed and beyond tired. So before August even began, I was burnt out and discouraged.

That wasn’t a great way to start a month that included a massive garage sale, another not-as-massive garage sale, a day of celebration for what was once and what is now, an info table at church (that I forgot about,) a weekend road trip to North Carolina, and packing and moving out of my house (with no clear place for me or my stuff to go at the time) on top of 50-hour work weeks and everyday responsibilities and obligations.

If I’ve learned anything in these past six weeks, it’s that God doesn’t require me to be SuperKristin and have everything figured out in that exact moment. That’s an expectation I’ve placed on myself, and when trying to meet that expectation, I do nothing but cause myself to implode from stress. God only requires that I trust Him and continue to place one foot in front of the other as He provides along the way.

The LORD God is my strength— he will make my feet surefooted like those of a deer, equipping me to tread on my mountain heights.
Habakkuk 3:19

God showed me a lot of grace and love while instructing me this month. He used people in my life to surprise me and encourage me to keep going in the moments I needed it most.

I feel like bustin’ out some Ray Boltz right now…

THAAAANNNK YOOOUUU for giving to the LORD… I am so glad you gave.”

Seriously. Thank you. I have been blessed and encouraged by each one of you.
