Hi, everyone! It’s so hard to believe that 4 weeks from today I will be headed down to Ft. Lauderdale, FL to meet up with my squad to begin this amazing journey called the World Race. I wanted to check in with everyone to let you know what’s going on with me at this point.
I feel like even though I have been planning and preparing for this for about 6 months now, it is still hard to believe that it is here. These last few weeks have been crazy trying to pull things together. I have bought / acquired almost all of the items on my packing list (though not sure if it is all going to fit in my backpack) and have completed my long series of vaccinations (ouch!). Of course, my “to do” list still isn’t complete . . .and probably won’t be until January 9th!
My last day working will be this Thursday, and I am so excited to have free time over the next few weeks to celebrate Christmas with family and friends and have some downtime to prepare myself emotionally and spiritually for my departure.
The Lord has continued to provide in the area of financial support. My account currently shows:
- $7783 in received donations
- $3300 in additional monies pledged to my account to be paid in monthly installments through June 2012
This means that I need an additional $4417 in donations to be fully funded for the trip. Based on when the pledged monies are expected to be received, I need $1417 of these additional monies to be donated before April 1, 2012 to meet my next deadline. All funds must be received before July 1, 2012.
Some specific areas that I would ask that you pray for me over these 4 weeks are listed below.
- Pray that these final days that I am able to spend with my loved ones are blessed and that they will all have a peace about my departure.
- Pray that I will be able to find downtime to prepare emotionally and spiritually for my departure and that I will not be distracted by unimportant things.
- Pray that the Lord will continue to provide financially for my trip so that I will not have to be distracted from my mission once on the field by support raising efforts but will be able to focus on what He has planned for me to do around the world.
