There is a security guard that stands outside of our guesthouse everyday. My team has gotten to know him and it has made me think. Ali works 12-hour days from 6 AM until 6PM. He works everyday and only makes $2 a day. My first thought is this poor man and his family, how can he and his wife provide for their children? My next thought was just how lucky we as Americans are, but we have all this stuff and what do we do with it? Are we using what God has given us to glorify His kingdom? We have so much and God has called us to use everything He has given to His glory. So many of us have a roof over our heads, food on the table, and we feel that we should have more, but as I look around this country that is not always standard. It breaks my heart to see little children selling or gathering on the beach, because they won’t have food to eat that day if they don’t make enough money. I realize that I have so much more then I need and that I am wasting what God has given/blessed me with so that I can have a candy bar. I know that some of my friends and family are struggling to keep that roof over your head and food on the table, but know that God has you in that place because He has great things planned for you. When God provides more know that you can do more with it.
