I’ll be honest, the day I received my bracelets from Threads of Hope I had two feelings. I was extremely excited about them but at the same time had the thought of ‘how in the world am I going to sell 1,000 bracelets’.  I knew I could sell a good amount to family, friends, coworkers, etc but the numbers didn’t add up to 1000. I felt like I had overestimated myself.

As I sat in line at my church ‘tailgating’ for Code Orange Revival with my best friends, the idea hit me. I had the perfect place to tell people about the World Race and sell my bracelets. So that Saturday as crowds of people waited for hours to get into see Christine Caine preach, Whitney, Allison, and I walked up to complete strangers and told them our story. At first, I was nervous and uneasy, but slowly I gained confidence.

My explanation went a little like this.

“Hi guys, have I had a chance to tell you about my bracelets? I’m going on the World Race. It’s Christian missions to 11 countries in 11 months. But to do that, I need to raise $15,000 so I am selling these bracelets that were made by families in the Philippines one of my countries. Half the money goes back to the families who made them, the other half goes to my fund. They are $2 a piece or 3 bracelets for $5. Anyone interested?

Slowly, people started buying. Some bought one, others handed me a 20 and told me to keep the change. By the end of Saturday, I had sold $300 worth of bracelets. Throughout the rest of the revival, I would walk the line when I had time and sell some here and there. By Monday night, it was a normal occurrence for 2-3 people to see me and ask me some version of “hey, are you the girl selling bracelets?”
At a time when I was doubting if God would provide, he showed up more than ever.

One of the core values of Elevation Church is “We Lead the Way in Generosity
” and boy did my church do that. By the end of the 12 nights, I sold $1100 in bracelets, half of which will go towards my funds!!  Like Pastor Craig Groeschel said on the first night of the Revival, those who are idiots for Christ Give Extravagently.  Thank you to all of you who bought from me. You helped more than you know!

My question for you is…will you give extravagantly for the Glory of God? Will you lead the way in generosity?
In less than a month, I’ve been able to raise about $2,000 of the $15,500. I’m blown away, yet I still have $13,500 until I’m fully funded. I’m praying and believing that God will provide. I’m praying to be fully funded before I launch in September. To human that sounds impossible, $13,500 in 8 months? However, Christine Caine reminded me during Code Orange Revival that God is faithful and he is going to fulfill his promises even if it seems impossible.

I’d love to give you the opportunity to join me on this journey. Help me to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
