I’ll be honest…the topic of my expectations for the World Race is a hard one to put into words/write about. I have many…

I expect…

  • To see Jesus in a completely different way.
  • To grow closer to God than I’ve ever been.
  • To face my junk.
  • To become close with people I never would have met if it weren’t for the WR.
  • To miss my family more than I ever thought possible.
  • To be ok with not having constant Internet access/cell phone use.
  • To smell and have greasy hair (if you know me, you know I like to be clean) and not care!
  • To trust God more than I ever thought possible.
  • To get rid of the “plan” I’ve always had for my life and give it completely to God.
  • To ache for my nieces and nephews.
  • To see some of God’s most beautiful creations.
  • To have my heart broken for what breaks God’s heart.
  • To experience the greatest joy I’ve ever felt.
  • To wish I could pick up the phone and call my friends or get a hug from any of my church family
  • To gain new family in 11 different countries.
  • To come back wanting to adopt as many kids as God tells me (I’m already talking about it).
  • To have culture shock in other countries and in the US when I get back.

These are just a few of my expectations. They change daily even hourly but one thing I know for sure is I expect to NEVER be the same. This is going to be life changing and I can’t wait. It has already started. I also know that my expectations will be exceeded. That’s just how God is.

Thanks for reading! =]
