We have made it to our last continent we are visiting on the race!

Our first country in Europe was Bulgaria. Bulgaria is beautiful. We started the month in Sofia where we had debrief. For those of you who don’t know, debrief is where the whole squad lives together for a couple of days. We catch up and share stories, we worship together, and we also have some sessions. It’s a time for us to get poured into by leadership before continuing to pour out to others daily.

Debrief also brings changes. In this case Team Changes. Meet Team Navagio!

After debrief finished my team and I made our way to a small town called Zlatograd, which is where we would live and do ministry for the rest of the month. Might I add that we were only 4.5 kilometers from the border of Greece!

Zlatograd is the type of town where you walk everywhere and the whole town knows everyone. It’s the type of place where the same older men are sitting on the same curb every morning and afternoon. And soon this phrase was thrown around every time we passed them, “Zdrasti. Kak si?” which means ‘hello how are you?’ It’s the type of place where you run into your english students in the city center every afternoon because buying popcorn and ice-cream is the thing to do. Zlatograd is a small town, but it’s also beautiful, relaxing, and filled with friendly people.

For ministry I taught intermediate English, spoke in church, helped with moving bricks for the pastor’s house and new church, visited some people in a nearby village, and spent time with the youth from the church. The month in Zlatograd was mainly focused around relationships. We built many relationships which was easy to do since it’s a small town. This month was very relaxing which is exactly what I needed.

Also, I can now check Greece off my list of places to visit! Our team had the chance to go to two different places in Greece. I love being able to travel and meet so many different people. Traveling is such a cool way to see God’s creation and see Him work in different situations!
