Last month I was in the Philippines in the small town of Antipolo a few hours from Manila.
My team & I worked with Children’s Garden, a home for boys ages 12-18.
These boys all have different stories but you would never know that they all came from the streets. You would never know their lives included abuse, drugs, gangs, and broken families.
The staff at Children’s Garden loves these boys! They have devotion everyday, they teach them and raise them to become young men, and most importantly they are all a family and these boys get to go out to the streets and love other street kids.
I can’t put into words how wonderful this ministry is but I can say I’ll be back 🙂
So, pretty much our whole month was loving these boys and hanging out with them. When we weren’t with the boys we were doing prison ministry, outreaches in the slums, outreaches in the concrete village, leading devotion every night for the boys, we worked with CICL (children in conflict with the law), we had a feeding program for 100 children and had VBS for a few days in the slums.
It was a busy month but I wouldn’t change it for anything!!
At the end of the month was PVT (parent vision trip) and my parents got to come to the Philippines!!! My parents and I worked with a separate ministry for that week but on our off day I got to bring my parents to Children’s Garden. They got to see where we lived and got to meet the boys 🙂
I will post another blog of all pictures but for now enjoy these 2 videos from my teammates Leah & Kat.
