An excellent [mother] who can find? She is far more precious than
jewels.
I know a mum as lovely as mine is rare. I thank God
for her every single day
.

The heart of her husband trusts in her and he will have no lack of
gain.

My parents will be celebrating their 28th
wedding anniversary. Their example of choosing to love one another daily and
trust each other is something I will carry into a marriage of my own one day.

She seeks wool and flax. And works with willing hands.
My mother has always worked hard to provide
for her family. She worked lovingly and willingly because she put her family
ahead of herself. We never went without.

She is like the ships of the merchant; she brings her food from afar.
Some of my favorite childhood memories are
of times when my whole family would be in the kitchen helping make home-made
pizza. I am grateful for my mum because she made sure my belly was always filled.

She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household

and portions for her maidens.

When I was a little girl, I would love to go
visit my mum at the hospital when she worked second shift. Often times these
visits were at night and seeing her before I went to bed always helped me sleep
better.

She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she
plants a vineyard.

My mother never spent money frivolously on
things we really didn’t need like name- brand clothing but her and my father’s
prudence allowed my family to go on vacations and experience adventures that
not all children get to experience.  Once
upon a time she made us sleep in a tee pee on a road trip out west.

She dresses herself with strength and makes her harms strong.
My mother is the strongest woman I know. Not
only because she is 52 and still has rock hard biceps, but because she has been
through a lot in her life  and she is
still seeking the Lord with all her heart and relying on him.

She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go
out at night.
My mother is always providing for me. One
thing my mother has always done is never hesitate to provide financially when I
need it. She gives generously and one thing I am still thankful for is when she
paid for my health insurance after I quit my first job and lived in
Nicaragua

She puts her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.

My mother never made clothing for us, but I was always
clothed. One thing I am thankful for is that my parents taught me where my true
value comes from and that it wasn’t from name brand clothes. I truly respect
her for this.

She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy.
My mother is generous. She has the heart and
spirit of my grandfather who was the most generous person I know. She
volunteers and is always willing to help or reach out a hand to anyone.

She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her house hold are
clothed in scarlet.

I loved getting bundled up in my snow suit as a child
and my Carebare toboggan and playing in the snow. my snow suit wasn’t scarlet,
it was purple, but my mother always made sure we were warm and when we were
finished playing she would give us hot chocolate and marshmallows. . . just
another favorite memory.

She makes bed coverings for herself; her clothing is fine linen and purple.

Purple and fine linen signify royalty, and while she
has been told countless times that she looks like Princess Diana, she has a
regality that comes from something deeper than that.

Her husband is known in the gates when he sits among the elders of the
land.

My dad is well respected and loved in their church, I
know this is because my mother love and respects him and their relationship
reflects Christ and the church.

She makes linen garments and sells them; she delivers sashes to the
merchant.

One thing I love about my mum is how she is put
together . . . and to be honest, how she puts me together! My mother has
cultivated a wonderful sense of fashion and sometimes she comes home with
surprises for me. If ever my earrings or jewelry “just make my outfit” it is
because my mother bought them for me and put me together
.

Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the times to
come.

I already told you that my mum is the strongest woman
I know, but one thing I have really enjoyed seeing in her as this year has
progressed is a deeper level of trust, love and faith in God. Maybe a deeper
faith in God just comes without saying when your baby is half-way around the
world, but I have really seen my mum step into deeper levels of faith and intimacy
with Him and it is so encouraging to see!

She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her
tongue.

My mother is my best friend. There have been many late
nights sitting on my bed talking about every intimate detail of my heart. When
I need comfortable she is always there to scratch my back, or speak some truth
into my life. When I am being a brat she is there to call me out and tell me to
get over myself. She is loving and patient, full of wisdom.

She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread
of idleness.

We have always been cared for and I have always been
pushed to do my best to succeed. Whether in basketball, studying, nursing, or
being a missionary my mum my number one fan and biggest advocate. She sees
potential in me and pushes me there. She is able to really see my heart in a
matter and trust it. That means so much to me.

Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also and he
praises her:

“Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all”

MUM- you are the BEST! I do rise up and call you
blessed. You have greatly blessed me and everyone around you. You are loved,
cherished, beautiful, appreciated, and missed greatly!

Charm is deceptive and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord
is to be praised.

AMEN. YOU ARE
BEAUTIFUL BUT IT ALL SHINES FROM THE INSIDE OUT. I KNOW JESUS SMILES SO WIDE
WHEN HE THINKS OF YOU!!

Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the
gates.

Mum . . . I am the fruit of your hands. Because of the
way that you raised me- you have raised a disciple who desires to make
disciples who make disciples. For this your contribution to the Heavenly
kingdom is going to be MASSIVE! I do believe that in the end there is a HUGE
“Well done, my good and faithful servant” waiting just for you!
