So I have been officially fundraising for about two months now!! I have done supporting raising before however never have I been humbled like I have now.
First let me start off by saying thank you so much to everyone that has donated! You investment is not just a temporary investment but rather an eternal investment!!!! I am currently at $2,815 dollars (Praise God) which is $685 dollars away from meeting my first deadline which technically isn't due till April. however I have set a different goal date which is to have my first deadlin of $3,500 dollars met by the end of this month and I know that is possible!!!
In this process of support raising I have recognized my dependence, and how much I depend on other people and I am not sure if the cycle ever stops. I depend on my parents for love, emotional support, advice and even financial support. I depend on my friends for love, advice and emotional support. I depend on my jobs for community and financial independence/freedom. Yet to even make those jobs possible I depend on other people to buy clothes at Loft, make-up/skin care from Mark Kay (being that I just became an independent (yet totally dependent) Mary Kay consultant), and I depend on the family I nanny for to keep their jobs. Dependence is a scary thing because nothing is ever guaranteed; I don’t know if there will ever be a time in my life where I will ever be fully independent and praise God for that, I don’t ever want to be. I can only image how aweful and more prideful I would be if I realized I didn’t need anyone and could do it alone. However what is great is that God never intended for us to be alone, He made us to need Him and community and I am so incredibly thankful for that!! My need is so great and not even for financial support but for emotional support and spiritual support/counsel! I NEED God in all things no matter how small, from picking up crumbs or taking care of the children I nanny for because he gives me each breath!!! Recognizing my NEED for and in all things has humbled me so much, especially when I am then person that comes from the mentality of I want…. By no means have I full recognized my need because I don’t ever go without and that is something I am so excited and definitely nervous about for the World Race!!
So I stated above that I became and Mark Kay consultant, which I am super excited about. In preparing for this journey I have felt as if I have nothing to give back, that a hand written thank you card is not enough! So my friend Olivia came to me and offered that I become a consultant and (note If you have ever heard my opinion of being a Mary Kay consultant you are probably thinking "what the heck!! no way". Trust me I have thought the same thing) never did I expect or want to be a Mark Kay consultant but I am and so bless and excited to be partnering up with some awesome women! By being a Mary Kay consultant I now have a service to offer to other people, I get to serve people as people have served me, and I get to be in control of the sales. So with that being said all profit that is made from Mary Kay is being put towards the World Race. Also not only is there a financial goal of $15,500 dollars to meet in order to go on the World Race, there are needs such as packing cubes, a sleeping pad (which will be my mattress for 11 months), a tent (which will be my home for 11 months), vaccinations, a pillow, a computer (which will be my only means of communication to home for 11 months), ipod (which I hear is the only way I “get away”, keep my sanity, and form of private 'worship' for 11 months) and so much. So with Mary Kay I am excited because not only will I be able to provide a service for other people, they support me and my world race trip with every Mary Kay product that they purchase through me! I ask that you would all pray for my team and I as we are all in the same boat with support raising, and recognizing our need that ONLY God can fulfil through others, pray that He would move and stir the hearts of others to support this journey whatever way that looks likfe for each individual! God knows and he interceeds for us!
