Joyful, excited, happy were the first things that ran through my mind. I finally got the call I have been waiting for, for 28 days. I may or may not have screamed. For a girl who has a color coded planner, makes lists and has everything planned out; I was nervous that going on the race may not have been in “the plans”. I say this because a few days ago I was struggling with the idea that maybe the race was not something God had in mind for me at this point in my life. However, when I saw the Georgia area code, I was encouraged and breathed a sigh of relief. I was consumed with joy and knew the race was in fact in God’s will for my life.
Now comes the hard part- fundraising. I don’t know why money and fundraising are such awkward topics, but they tend to be for some. I could understand a couple hundred, maybe a thousand or so dollars but I could by a car with the amount of money we are needing to raise!! What it comes down to, is in this case the money is going to a person fulfilling God plan and not an object. I am grateful that God has chosen me, a girl from Texas, to spread his word, in 11 different countries. And I am even more excited to partner with you, to make that happen.
In Romans 12: 4-5 it says “For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” I look at fundraising the same way. If I had $16,616 in the bank, I would be set and not writing this blog but I don’t, so here I am. The church has many parts, they all work together and form one and in this case many people can’t take 11 months of their life and travel doing ministry but they can support people like me! With your help, I can be the hands and feet of Christ!! Supporting a trip like this will change lives and grow the kingdom, how cool is that? This isn’t just sending someone on mission for 11 months but it’s having an opportunity to contribute to providing extra care for the orphaned, medical help to the needy, hope to the broken and ultimately help spread the love of Christ.
Although it is a lot of money to raise, I know the God I serve is more significant than any dollar amount. If you feel lead to give, all donations are tax deductible and my link will be at the bottom of the page.
We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. ~ Romans 12:6-8
This is just the beginning.
Thank you in advance for all of your prayers and continued support.
Peace and Blessings.
