We heard the fairy tales of Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast and many more…
We know they are not real, yet we COMPARE our life story to theirs. We crave that “perfect love” portrayed in fairy tales & when our current relationships fall short of it (which they always will) we sit there and wonder where it all went wrong. We get the feeling that something is missing or that another relationship with someone new will somehow be different…and in a sense we are right. It will be new & exciting, but later on down the road those feelings of emptiness will come creeping up again. What I have learned through similar experiences is that void we start to feel, that emptiness inside of us, that hole that nobody seems to understand is there….what that actually is…is a CRAVING for something more, a craving that NO person can ever actually fill…It’s a void that must be filled by GOD & GOD alone & when I figured this out for myself it made all the difference in the world…when I actually took the time to seek GOD, rather than another person, I felt a wholeness I had never experienced before. The feeling was incredible and I yearn each day to be filled up more and more and more by HIM….
In the world we live in today…a world of everything being readily available to us, a world of social networking that has become our sole source of communication, a world of portraying our lives & identity by the pictures we post or status’s we update on a daily basis, a world where it becomes so easy to COMPARE our lives with someone elses….
We look at the life our “FB friends” are living and say WOW! I wish I lived their life. It seems SO perfect…they have it all, the new car, the new house, the amazing boyfriend, the dream job, the newest boat and so on and so forth…
Often times we spend so much time COMPARING our lives to their “doctored up highlight stream of happiness” and we are left thinking our lives are dull or that something is wrong with us…
Well both ladies and gentlemen alike…I am here to tell you, YOU & I ARE WRONG!
We have allowed satan to completely feed us lie after lie after lie that we are not good enough, not pretty enough, not handsome enough, not skinny enough, not smart enough, not rich enough, not worthy enough, not talented enough and the list goes on and on….
Here’s the TRUTH behind those lie’s….WE ARE ENOUGH, WE ARE ALWAYS ENOUGH…it is written in the GREATEST LOVE STORY OF ALL ~ THE BIBLE
Picture this: There is a man out there whom you have never met in person, but only heard of. He knows the exact number of hairs on your head. He knows what you will do before you even do it. He knows your deepest darkest secrets. He knows the people you will come across in your life and the impact you will have on others. He knows you will betray him time and time again. He knows your imperfections, your weaknesses, your strengths, your doubts, your brokenness, your fears, your joys. He knows the things that make you happy and the things that bring tears to your eyes. He knows the time and energy you waste trying to impress others, trying to be someone you are not, trying to reach an unattainable goal of perfection, trying to rely on your own strength and your own power…he knows ALL of this and so much more…YET HE LOVES YOU UNCONDITIONALLY IN SPITE OF IT! He loves YOU so much, there is a love story He wrote just for YOU. A story you can read over and over again, yet it will never change. He invites you to read this story so that you may realize just how truly LOVED you are…HIS NAME~ JESUS
1 John 4:9-11 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
His LOVE is a LOVE no human could EVER measure up to. It’s a LOVE that is incomprehensible to us. It is a LOVE so powerful that this man was willing to sacrifice his life for YOU, not only that….but He was crucified on the cross so we didn’t have to be, meaning He wants you to leave ALL of your troubles with Him, because remember He already Paid the price for us IN FULL! WOW!!! He LOVES you and I so much that he took the burden and the pain FOR US, so that we didn’t have to.
John 3:16 “For God so LOVED the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Stop and think about that for a second…HE DID IT FOR YOU!!! So right now, I encourage you to ask God what troubles is He asking you to leave at His feet right now? What struggles is he tugging at in your heart saying, “Leave it all with me, I died on the cross for YOU, so that you could be FREE. I want you to be FREE right now, right this second, and every second for the rest of your life. So please, leave it all with me & walk away feeling free and lighter than ever before.”
1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time HE may exalt you, casting ALL your anxieties on him, because HE cares for you.
YOU are enough! YOU are beautiful! YOU are worthy! YOU are deserving of ALL good things in this world! YOU are forgiven! YOU are desired! YOU are loved!You are made PERFECT through Him! Not through your worldly success, your looks, your fame, your bank account, but THROUGH HIM~ Jesus Christ~ YOU ARE MADE PERFECT!!!
So comparing your life to anyone else’s is foolish. Every person has their hardships.
We all struggle in life just in different ways…But the beautiful message I want to get across to you is this….We Don’t have to struggle anymore, we don’t have to be troubled, we don’t have to fear….for we now know that JESUS has ALREADY PAID THAT PRICE FOR US….and THAT ~the GREATEST love story of all~ is something to rejoice in~
Ephesians 2:4-5 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by GRACE you have been saved—
