About 2 months ago, when I was stressing over my funding for the race and wondering how I would ever be able to come up with the $15,500 it costs…I had an encounter with God….
“You don’t trust me!” –God said
“Kristen, you NEED to trust in me.”-He said again
“Yes, I do trust you, God I really do. Why else would I be giving up a year of my life to follow YOUR will for me.”
“Well, I know you have $3,500 in your savings account that you could give to yourself in order to provide the funds you need to get to Training Camp.” –God Said
“But…but…God you know that is money I have worked hard for and saved up for when I get back from my World Race, I will only put that money in my account if worse comes to worse and I actually NEED it.” –I replied
“You see…you don’t trust me, You say you do…but your actions show differently. Please Kristen, I want you to trust me with this and know THAT I WILL PROVIDE FOR YOU.”
(After going back and forth with God about trusting in him…I made up my mind that day, to trust in the Lord with all my heart & lean not on my own understanding. I made a wholehearted decision to put all my trust in HIM and truly rely on HIM to provide for me financially. I even told my Mom about how God had told me to trust in him, and with that I was going to put the $3,500 into my account knowing that if I expected other people to invest in me…I needed to invest in myself.)
The next day, I checked my account and had an anonymous donation for $1,750 (half of the amount I needed for my first deadline).
I could hardly believe my eyes…did God really just allow that to happen? Who could this anonymous donor be? How on earth could I ever thank them for donating such a large amount to me?
With tears of joy in my eyes, I shared the story with my younger brother and Mom, and they too were just as touched. My brother even remarked, “You know Kristen, when you look at the word anonymous it’s like all you can see is GOD!” and he was right….
After saying YES to trusting in God…HE PROVIDED FOR ME!!!! I struggled with the fact that I would never know who my anonymous donor was, but I rejoiced knowing whoever that person was, wherever they may be…they will always hold a special place in my heart and I will continue to pray for them!
Fast Forward……DAY 2 of Training Camp in TN
For those of you who do not know I will give a brief description of Training Camp. It is a week long adventure when all 5 of the squads leaving in January for The World Race get to know one another and come together as a squad in preparation for the year ahead. It’s all about embracing who you are in Christ and becoming whole again through God’s everlasting grace & love!
Well on the night of day 2, I arrived a little late to dinner so I sat at a table with an open seat. Sitting next to me was a girl I didn’t recognize and I knew she was not on A squad like I was. She turned to me and said, “Hi! Are you Kristen with that polish last name?” I said “Yes! My last name is Dworaczyk and it is indeed polish.”
She said, “Well Kristen, I actually have a pretty crazy story for you.” (If any of you know me, you know I love stories and I love to talk and meet new people) so with a huge smile on my face I said, “Well, lets hear it!”
The next words out of her month were words I will never forget….
She said, “Well it all started when God came to me and said, Kori ,You don’t trust me! You need to trust that I WILL PROVIDE FOR YOU.”
My heart sank…as those words resonated in my head… I thought to myself “Did I really just hear that correctly…because those words sounded all too familiar to me…for those exact words were said to me not too long ago.”
I still just listened intensely…not sure of what to expect next….
Then she said, “So I went back and forth with God about trusting him, until he asked me to do something…He told me to take $3,500 out of my savings account and give half of it to a girl named Kristen with a polish last name.”
By this point of the story I am shocked beyond belief. I try to speak but no words came out of my mouth….I was in awe!!!
The girl then went on to say she had never even heard of a Kristen with a polish last name. So she went onto our facebook page and sure enough…there was the name Kristen Dworaczyk and she instantly knew she had to trust God and obey him! So she did…. without hesitation…she obeyed God and donated $1,750 of her own hard earned money to A GIRL SHE HAD NEVER MET, NEVER EVEN HEARD OF…except by the words of GOD!
Right then, in that second, it hit me….THIS GIRL WAS MY ANONYMOUS DONOR!!!!!
I cried & hugged her & thanked her & cried some more…She confirmed God’s Faithfulness to me by her trust and actions…HOW POWERFUL!!!
This is one incredible story about how GOD WILL PROVIDE if only we learn to trust in HIM!!! She has truly inspired me and I love how God used both of us separately and came to us individually saying, “TRUST IN ME.” By both of us doing so, HE brought it back full circle and had our stories intertwined into a beautiful masterpiece hand-crafted by HIM !!!!
So I challenge you to be open to God’s voice & TRUST in HIM because He WILL pull through for you, ALWAYS!!! What ever your situation is you are struggling with, leave it ALL at Jesus’ feet and TRUST that HE WILL provide for you, whether that’s emotionally, financially, or spiritually…God is there with you through it all & HE WILL PROVIDE!!!
