My God is a wonder working God. I’ve known for a solid 20 years now that He is a God that grants miracles, a God that loves his children and delights in blessing them. It only took me this long to see it for myself and know the magnitude of his power.
Let me back up and fill you in on some things logistically. Our squad has 2 logistics leaders (fellow racers that serve our squad through taking care of so many little details) that work closely with the people in Georgia and help set up all of our ministry locations for each team. They communicate with the squad leaders who then assign each team to their prospective location for the next month. I was so excited about our upcoming month in Kenya because I had been there in 2010 with my sweet mother and God had captivated both our hearts in a deeper way. Kenya was a place that strengthened my desires to serve others and take the leap in committing to long term missions. I was more than excited to return to the country, and only hoped that I might get to return to the small village that I loved so dearly. I never mentioned to any of my leaders that I had been to the town of El Doret. I never even spoke the name of the village, I simply prayed and asked God to send me to “the bush” and let me relish in the glory of His magnificent creations once again.
So naturally when my team leader announced that we would be spending our month in El Doret, Kenya I jumped for joy and literally screamed! Glory be to God! He is faithful and is a wonder working God. I always knew he loved me and never doubted that, but sometimes when I am in the swing of things I tend to forget that He truly wants to provided not only the things that I need, but also the things that I want.
I got to spend 2 days in the small village at Lemoru Children’s Home. Sitting in a huge open field under the blue clear sky, listening to the wind in the trees, surrounded by the sweet children that light up my life was like a vacation. Sitting there I realized that I really am a country girl at heart, I’ll take a field full of cattle over a busy highway any day!
The power of prayer is unstoppable. This race can be exhausting and chaotic in so many ways, its easy to get discouraged and wonder how to go on. Then my sweet heavenly father wraps his arms around me and reminds me how close he is to my heart. Every request I have submitted to Him about the race he has provided! He truly is the ultimate provider. He is magnificent in so many ways…
Yours Truly,
KC
