Our team filed into a room of barren bunks beds and a sound system for meetings like the one we were about to have. Some women eagerly sat next to us and spoke excitedly in a language we could not understand. Others huddled in the corner ignoring our presence. The sweet lady holding tightly on to my hand with her wrinkled fingers spoke some english and grinned from ear to ear as we shared about the love of Jesus. The moment she grabbed my hand and interlocked our fingers, I knew she was God sent.

Home of Hope was started in the year 1997, It is an organization solely dedicated to rescuing and rebuilding the lives of the destitute and dying people of the streets. Today, the home accommodates and cares for more than 200 residents who have been rescued from the most inhumane and unhygienic circumstances. It is a place of solace and shelter for people who are suffering from AIDS,Cancer and Kidney failures besides many who are mentally challenged. These residents who were once disowned by their families and doomed to fend for themselves have found a new reason to live. Sitting with these women and praying for them was the greatest thing I have done this month. These are the people that the world calls unlovely, and our sweet Jesus calls perfect, beautiful. It is amazing how a hand shake from a stranger can brighten a persons smile. I could have stayed there all day singing with these lovely ladies and hearing their stories. God knows exactly how to nurture my heart. His love comes in all forms and fashions, and today he loved my through hugs from sweet women that would be lost without their savior, Just like me.
