You know those moments when something so great has just happened that you can barely focus on anything at all because you are so excited? Today was filled with those moments for me!!
Honestly, my day did not begin with rainbows and butterflies. I had a fundraising garage sale to get rid of all my rubbish and get a little closer to the goal of $15,500. I had no idea how much work went into a garage sale! It was a HOT day. I have spent the past two days sorting and prepping for this thing and had certain expectations for the outcome. Then as I was standing in the blazing sun sorting through dirty old shoes I remembered something that my squad leader Justin said to us at training camp
“Jesus is the reason and the reward”
Complaining about sorting crap was not glorifying to God, and that was the intention of the garage sale. I decided right then and there that I was not going to set some price limit and be unhappy with God if he did not meet it with this fundraiser. This is about something much greater, and who am I to question the provisions of the Lord?
If you have not realized by now, I am really passionate about the people Jesus has placed on my squad. I know He has put us together for a reason and we are gonna fight for each other. We decided as a squad to pray, encourage each other, rally, and trust that God will provide financially for each of us. I cannot imagine not seeing every single person I said goodbye to on July 21st in Georgia.
The climactic part of my day was when I got a text from my teammate saying that she raised over $1,000.00 at her garage sale today! I literally jumped for joy.
I came home and got online to read an awesome story about another one of my squad mates reaching the deadline for launch! She was $700 short and one person said they would put a check in the mail on Monday.
The power of the Holy Spirit is infinite. I am so siked about what God has done for His children this weekend. There’s no good reason for people to give us thousands of dollars, but Jesus is the reason and the reward!!
I literally smiled until my cheeks hurt rejoicing in the Lord and what He is doing for His children. I have been so amazingly blessed by the people that love and encourage me on a daily basis. I am learning that the body of Christ is a close family and I am so grateful to be apart of it.
Nothing is impossible for GOD. We cannot pull it off. But Jesus can, and there aint no stopping him!
Jesus looked hard at them and said, "No chance at all if you think you can pull it off yourself. Every chance in the WORLD if you trust God to do it.”
Matthew 19:26
Yours Truly,
KC
