I had a pretty exciting appointment yesterday. My schedule is insanse and will be until September 1st(not that it will calm down at that point). But I made plans to meet one of my fellow raceers!
Thanks to the wonderful world of Facebook, I have been able to interact with my new family on an awesome level. We discovered that there are 5 Aggies (Whoop!) going on the World Race september route 3!
Stephanie Montes & I met at a little place called MugWalls on Monday afternoon to chat. With all the projects and papers I have due this week I decided that I only had one hour to spare for this lil meeting. From the first five minutes I was wishing I had days to sit and chat with this Sister in Christ of mine. I have been excited about this journey ahead of me from the moment I applied, but actually meeting a fellow racer made it so much more real. We are gonna do this, simply because Abba told us to. It was probably the most comfortable cup of coffee I've ever had with a stranger. I know that God is going to do some radical things in people's lives all over World…But he is already doing some outrageous things in my heart. I cannot wait to get to know Stephanie and the rest of my amazing team so much more and just do life with them; To constantly be in a community that lives and breathes to glorify Christ Jesus. (AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!)
On a different note, My parents are coming to town for Breakaway tonight. For those of you that are not familiar I shall explain. actually I am gonna use the excerpt from the website cause its fancier than my words….
"Breakaway is a non-denominational, weekly Bible study on the campus of Texas A&M University. We exist to introduce college students to Jesus Christ and call them to walk with Him for a lifetime. We accomplish this through worship, Bible teaching and resources. While not affiliated with any one church, we work hard to connect students to local, Bible-believing churches. By God's power and for His glory, we live to proclaim the gospel of Christ to college students and connect them to Christ's community and His mission." — and one other thing, its about 7,000 students in the basketball arena every Tuesday!!
Breakaway has been such a huge part of my college experience and I am pumped for my parents to get to see what it is all about!!
