Hola,

Quite honestly I have been putting off writing this for a little over a month now. I’m not incredibly fond of writing about myself nor am I fond of blogging but I suppose it’s time to get over both of those things. In fact, I’m fairly certain I’m going to have to get over many things before I embark on this eleven-month journey.

I’ll try and make this as brief as possible. I’m from a super small town in Northwest Florida called Jay. For the past four years though (and counting), I’ve been going to school at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. I’ve pretty much enjoyed every second of it. Naturally, there have been ups and downs but overall it has been an incredible experience and even though I’m SO excited about going on the World Race in January, I’m not looking forward to having to leave Auburn at the end of the year. I have had the absolute blessing and privilege to get to know so many amazing people in Auburn who are really in large part the reason I have as strong of a faith as I do have. I will certainly be missing all of them once it’s time for me to leave.

As sad as I am about having to leave all of my friends and family (both in Auburn and at home), I am equally excited about getting to embark on such an incredible journey, both around the world and just in life in general. Over the past few years I have had the opportunity to do mission work in Honduras several times and one thing these trips have grown in me is a desire to be a part of the global kingdom. It is overwhelming to me how the message of Jesus is currently being spread around the world and the risks Christians are taking to make sure the message of Jesus is heard. I am excited to be a part of this and to have the opportunity to serve along side so many other sons and daughters of God around the world who are working to bring Jesus to people who have never heard of him.

I know the year of 2012 will hold many things that I could never begin to imagine right now but I cannot wait to see the way God will work not only in my life but also in the lives of my other teammates, the people around the world who we will be working with, and everyone else at home who will be following the journey along the way. God is so much bigger than I can imagine but I am so thankful he has allowed me to be a part of his Kingdom and is using me to help further it in this world he created.

I promise I’ll blog more later. 🙂
