Hey Y’all! So I wanted to give y’all a little overview of what O Squad did in Haiti in February. In Haiti we were together for All Squad Month, so all 53 of us were together at Mission of Hope Haiti in Titanyen for the month. During our time there we spend time in the surrounding villages praying with family and also teaching Community Health like hand washing and brushing teeth and made them aware of nearby clinics. God is moving so noticably in Haiti!
During our last week in Haiti we visited a new village every day. One of the villages we went to and just spent getting to know the people and praying for them. The first woman we spoke with let us go pump water for her. The people that we would go hang out with didn’t always have running water in their homes, usually they would have to walk a little ways to a pump and then use something the purify the water. It was good exercise walking to the pump and filling up the 8 or so buckets of water, and I also provided an opportunity to talk more with the translators and the people at the water pump.
The last home we visited before lunch that day was a young woman that had grown up with one of our two translators. The woman had a lump in her throat that had been there for three years. She needed surgery, but they do not have the money for the surgery. Our two teams that were at the home along with the two translators and talked and then prayed for healing. After the initial prayer for healing, our translator Kevin-lee asked for us to all surround her and pray together and lay hands and just pray in our native tongues at once. We all started praying and it was SO POWERFUL! You could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit there. When we finished praying the lump was still there, but it was very evident that God was doing emotional and spiritual healing. We asked what her what her favorite worship song was, and through tears she sang it for us. It was absolutely beautiful. I am so thankful that God is always working even when we can’t see tangible evidence. We also had the privilege of seeing and being a part of some physical healings during that week as well. God is good all the time and All the time God is good!
