It’s been raining a lot here in Honduras, and I mean A LOT! Every night for the past couple of nights there have been torrential down pours.  Many of the people here live in adobe houses made of dirt, clay, and gravel so when it rains, and the rivers burst at the seams water gets in easily.  There is a village area near us where the river was overflowing and many people had water up to their knees or higher in and around their home!  The water erodes away the base of their adobe houses and that can cause their entire house to fall over. We had the opportunity to do some village ministry Friday and we visited some of the families who were hit hardest by the rains.  We meet one single mother who only has a dirt floor in her home which can make the erosion worse. Our ministry host offered to put a cement floor in her home this coming Monday so that the rains don’t erode the base of her home away.  Our team is really excited to be able to help this little family out and minister to her and the rest of the village as we work on her home!  Also on Friday we had the opportunity to pray for 2 older ladies who were sick.  One lady has bad cataracts and the other had very bad varicose veins which was causing her a lot of pain.  It was so cool to be able to lay hands on these women to pray and comfort them. I made this little video of our adventures its on my facebook page because I couldnt add it to this blog. Here is a pick of us talking with some women and children who’s homes were flooded. The lady with the baby is the mom we are going to lay cement for on monday! 🙂
