Bible wide open with splattered tears marked on the pages. I cried out to the one that makes me whole, “Jesus..I need you.” With mountains surrounding me…I felt so small in that moment, so in awe. I wish I could explain all the feeling I felt… how broken, and how God filled the cracks. The realization I came to..but instead of trying to explain, I wrote this.
Then…the quiet explosion.
The burst of color that erupts in your heart when you realize something you didn’t see before
When a million goosebumps rush down your body from unimaginable joy
When someone embraces you, grabbing on tightly to your shirt as tears stream down their face…
The smile from a broken heart
The generosity of a poor body
The warmth from a little hand gripping tight onto yours..
this is the quiet explosion.
The moments that change a person, rewire the way you think, the glue that binds us together in unity, standing firm in our faith.
The Holy Spirit heart beat
The gut wrenching pain
The white knuckled fists..
The traces of hair from the lions main.
Gripped teeth
Clenched eyes
Wet face from long cries
Calling out to the one that diminishes all lies
Then…the quiet explosion
The sweet release of surrender
Sweaty hands raised up in the air, eyes transfixed on the one who says
I Am.
