If there is one lesson that I’ve learned throughout the world race it is this: God is everywhere.
We recently visited a church here in Penang. As we were leaving one of my teammates asked me if I liked it. I said, “Yes and no.” They asked for an explanation. I said, “There were a few red flags which is why I probably wouldn’t go back to that church but I also met with God there. I’ve learned that you can meet with God anywhere you want to meet with God. You can meet God in any church and I like anywhere I meet with God.”
Before leaving the states, I didn’t know much about denominations but I knew that there were certain ones I wouldn’t go to because they were too conservative or they were too charismatic.
Here’s what I’ve learned through going to various churches throughout the race. God is everywhere and you can meet with Him anywhere if you chose to. I’ve been to Baptist churches, Assembly of God churches, non-denominational churches, and many more that were very conservative or not conservative at all. And I’ve met God in every church if I chose to.
I can meet with God on a rooftop. I can meet with God in a bathroom. I can meet with God in a bus. I can meet with God in a coffee shop. I can meet with God anywhere. And I certainly can meet with God in any church.
In His presence is my favorite place to be and it’s where I’m most happy. And if that happens to be in a church I wouldn’t normally go to, in a park, in a car, or wherever, I know that if I can find His presence then I will like it.
If there is one lesson I’ve learned throughout the world race it is to take the boxes away and let the Spirit move as He wants to move and where He wants to move.
