Thailand. Month 9. A month I’ve been looking forward to since before the race. Many racers love Thailand and I couldn’t wait to get here. The Thai people are some of the most beautiful people I’ve seen. Beautiful people and still so many of them are caught up in slavery and bondage. This country is a land of smiles but so many of them are not smiling on the inside. Whether it be religious bondage from Buddhism or Hinduism or it be human trafficking, this is a country in desperate need of a Savior.
This month, my new team and I (Team Eden) are working with an organization called Remember Nhu. Remember Nhu has children’s homes in many countries but Thailand is one of their biggest homes. Their mission is to protect children from being sold into the sex industry. We went to visit a village the other day and our contacts told us that there are villages where it is impossible to find any girls from ages 8-18 because they are working in the trade. I was so thankful to see many kids in this village.
Remember Nhu (HELP Thailand) has two girls homes and two boys homes. They are not an orphanage but instead their mission is to prevent these children from being sold into trafficking. The children have parents but live at the children’s homes and are cared for by house parents. They receive all basic needs plus a great education and they learn about the hope found in Jesus Christ.
Remember Nhu has limited space and can only take the most desperate and most at risk children. Some risk factors might include parent’s already involved in the trade, being raised by a village that can’t support them, parent’s needing money, etc.
During the day, we are working on the property of one of the girls homes helping to clear land and weed out the gardens. Then in the evening, we spend time with the children at one of the homes over dinner, games, and homework.

These children are very well behaved. They walk around with a smile and a joy that you know comes from Christ. I can’t help but look into their eyes and be so thankful to know what they’ve been saved from.
God is moving. Please pray for Thailand and Remember Nhu.
