While on the race, I've had the opportunity to experience many different types of ministries. One of my favorite ministries is getting to interact with orphans or children stricken by poverty. Have you ever gotten to experience what it is like to give a child a hug and see their face light up? Imagine that expression on the face of a child who doesn't know the love of a parent. It is one of the most heart-warming things I've ever experienced! It's crazy how much a simple hug, push on a swing, or conversation can improve the quality of life for a child.
In August, my brother Nate Phillips, has the opportunity to go to China with ShowHope to work with orphans in Maria's Big House of Hope. While there he will also attend classes to learn about ways to advocate for orphans all over the world. In my experience with orphans and poverty stricken children is that they need people to love on them and fight for them. God has called Nate to be a voice for these children.
He needs to raise about $4000 in total. His first financial deadline is TODAY where he needs to have $2000 raised. He is about $700 short of that deadline.
