I am continually amazed how God speaks to His children. He reveals to my teammates areas where I need to grow and be challenged and then my teammates gracefully share those words to me. He leads me to read certain passages of scripture that speak the truth of His promises, His desires, and His steadfast love for me.
Recently, my teammate Shelli lead a devotional where she asked our team to write a love letter to ourselves from God’s perspective. I thought it was a great idea.  As I was writing, I felt like God was giving me such greater and deeper insight as to how He feels and thinks of me.

Here is some of what I felt like God was speaking to me:
Dear Kirby,
You are absolutely beautiful to me. I see no flaw in you. My sweet daughter, you no longer have to critique yourself and compare yourself to others because I love and accept you just as you are. My thoughts of you are what truly matters. The opinions of others should have no hold on you. Follow me, not the world. Seek me, not the worldly pleasures that will never truly satisfy. Remember that I have promised you abundant life. The freedom that was purchased for you is a free gift. Receive it! You are my beloved daughter and I love you deeply. Come, just as you are and I will always receive you with open arms. Trust in me. I will never fail you. My promises are always true. Rest in me. I know you. I believe in you. I will never give up on you. Remember: my grace is sufficient for you. My power is made perfect in your weakness. Rediscover what it means to be light and free! Laugh! Enjoy being with me. I love being with you. I love providing for you. I love speaking to you. I notice you. You are wanted. You are mine.”

Last night we were told that Liz, a former World Racer and staff member for SHE,  wrote 12 individual letters that revealed the Father’s heart for us. The envelopes were laid out on the floor and we all took about 3-4 minutes to pray and see which envelope we were drawn to pick up.  After every person had taken one, we opened them up to read. Some girls received scripture and a letter from God about trust, rest, worship, etc. When I opened mine, the first words I read were, “I love you.” I turned the card over and read these words:

I couldn’t help but smile ear to ear. Oh, how these words comforted me! So many of the words I wrote in my devotional letter were written again in this letter which confirms even more the truth that the Father speaks to His children and His children hear His voice.

What is the Father speaking to you? Have you taken the time to listen? Be still and let Him reveal the truth of your identity.

You are a child who is lavishly and dearly loved. Your worth is found in Christ alone. You are known by God. “You were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”-1 Corinthians 6:11
