I leave my house in about 7 hours to get on a flight from Houston to ATL to finally take part in WORLD RACE TRAINING CAMP! I've been reading TC re-caps for far too long now. It's about time I make an appearance! Haha:) There will be a total of 4 squads at camp and I am apart of the fabulous J SQUAD!!! Our squad color is green so you can imagine how decked out we will be upon arriving to Georgia!
The World Race has literally been a dream of mine for nearly 5 years and here I am, about to take part in the commissioning process. God was faithful in revealing the opportunity of the World Race and He's been faithful to actually give me the opportunity to GO. My heart is so unbelievably EAGER for these next 8 days. Despite the known truth that I will be stretched in every possible way, I truly believe I'm ready for it. I CAN'T WAIT to meet my amazing squad. COMMUNITY! YES! I am already thanking God in advance for my incredible new family! I am filled with an overwhelming amount of JOY just thinking about them!
Here is an excerpt from a blog one of my fellow squad mates, Kate Nixon, wrote in regards to how YOU can take part in this life-changing week.
Here is the week:
Saturday–W Worry. Matthew 6:25-34
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
Sunday-A Armor of God. Ephesians 6:10-20
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should."
A voice of one calling:
“In the wilderness prepare
the way for the Lorda];
make straight in the desert
a highway for our God.Every valley shall be raised up,
every mountain and hill made low;
the rough ground shall become level,
the rugged places a plain.And the glory of the Lord will be revealed,
and all people will see it together.
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
“Stand at the crossroads and look;
ask for the ancient paths,
ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
and you will find rest for your souls.
But you said, ‘We will not walk in it.’
Wednesday– I Interceding. Romans 8:26
" In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans."
Thursday– O One/Unity. Ephesians 4:3-6
"Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called ; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all."
"Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage —with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry. For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day —and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."
Saturday– Now that the word WARRIOR is done, it is time to pray for us in general. But here are the specifics. We are September Route 2. Which means that we leave in September of 2012, and out of 4 different squads we are the second. Based off of that, I am asking that you give the 2 o'clock hour on this day to praying generally for my squad, my team, me, and our World Race. I ask that you allow God to direct this time, maybe speak to you, or bring something to your attention that my squad should hear. (If so PLEASE let me know what God says to you! :))This is a time for you to connect with God, and fight the battle for us. This is the time to be a Warrior!
And of course, I would love any and all prayer for my team and I at all times. You may pray these verses over us, or ones you find from the Lord. We need Jesus, and that is the bottom line. There are many things you can pray over for us; Health, Finances, Travel, Relationships, etc. So…Let's do this!! Join many others and me this week to be a Warrior!"
