“And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.”

Matthew 25:40

These words have been poking at my heart a lot for the past several months. I had read them many times before, but they never sounded so real and so strong to me as they have recently.

Last fall I read a couple books that started really changing my heart. The first one was by Max Lucado (one of my favourite authors!) called “Outlive Your Life: You Were Made to Make a Difference”. Much of the book talked about helping “the least of these” that live on the very streets we walk on. My heart was broken for those who were hurting in whatever way it may be. The second book was called “No Longer a Slumdog” by K. P. Yohannan. His book focused on children in Asia who are trapped in slavery and people who are deemed “untouchable” by society, which is a form of slavery on its own. I do not think I had ever cried while reading a book; that book made me cry.

After reading both those books, all I wanted to do was help others in the great name of Jesus!!!

Lord, how can I help? Where do you want to to help? Who do you want me to help? How can I show people, near and far, that You love them? That You sent Your one and only Son to die for them that they may be free! Please show me what you want me to do! Guide me Lord Jesus!”

That was my prayer.

It was that prayer and heart cry that brought me to start my journey on The World Race. I was wanting to be able to show people the love of Jesus Christ by helping them in whatever way God wanted me to, through time, money, food…the list goes on, and God opened the doors for me to go on The World Race and serve Him around the world. God has shown me that He would like me to GO for the next season of life, and so I will GO. He has paved the way and placed a desire within me to travel with a purpose; to serve Him by serving others, and so that is what I will do.

I am so very excited that God is sending me! I am excited that He is allowing me to be used for His work here on earth! And I am especially excited for all He will show and teach me on this journey with Him, starting right here, and right now.

Come, journey with me!
