I would like to introduce myself and tell you just a little bit about myself.
Let's start with some basics…
My name is Kira Ypma and I am 21 years old. I am from Woodstock, Ontario, Canada; a growing city in the south western part of the province. I have the best parents in the world and 6 fun and crazy younger siblings, 2 sisters and 4 brothers. I was home-schooled from Kindergarten up through Grade 12, and went to a local high school for my "victory lap". Some of my favourite things are exercise and sports (with soccer being my favourite sport!), cooking and baking, summertime, reading (God's Word is the BEST!), music, colouring, journaling, fireworks, trail walks, pretty much anything orange, flowers, and spending time with family and friends.
A few words about my faith journey…
I became a Christian at a young age; around 5 or 6 years old. I do not remember too much about that moment, but I do remember telling my mom just as I was getting ready to go to bed that I wanted to ask Jesus to come into my heart. She told me what that really meant, and that night I prayed and accepted Jesus as my personal Saviour! Although I knew I was a Christian from that moment on, it was not until the last few years that I have really started to know what it means to live for Jesus, to love Him with all my heart, soul, mind and strength and just rest in His great love for me! Since then God has given me a real fire inside for Him. He has been teaching me so much in so many ways and I am excited to see what He will continue to do in my life. He has directed me to The World Race for January 2014 and I am super stoked about that. I cannot wait to see what God will do in my life and the lives of others before, during and after The World Race!!!
