After two long days of traveling, no showers, no brushing of the teeth, airport food and lack of sleep, we finally arrived in Guatemala. The country is actually a lot nicer compared to Mexico. Its still really impoverished, however Mexico seems a lot worse to me.

We’re staying at Lake Atitlan in Panajachel, Guatemala. Its so beautiful, there are volcanos outlining the lake. The public transportation is hilarious. Its painted school buses that don’t acknowledge the lane lines on the street. They look like summer camp buses, they’re stuffed to the brim and people are hanging off of them. We ate dinner at a restaurant that played the Marimba for us while we ate and they taught us how to make tortillas. YUM
.

The second day we had breakfast, it was so delicious. The food here resembles mexican, obviously. So its pretty amazing. We had session, worshiped God. When it came time for lunch, things got a bit tense with my team, surprise surprise. But we got together at the end of the day and talked through it. I think we are all worried about the team dynamic, however we’re all aware of each other’s needs and are going to work together as a team to unify. So I feel a lot better about how things are going with all that.

Tuesday we had a session in the morning again. Then my team and I went to the lake to have a team session. It started to rain so we headed back to the hotel (we’re staying in hotel). On the way we stopped at a restaurant because it was pouring at this point. Jess, luke and I grabbed a beverage and I met Ingrid. She’s the daughter of the restaurant owner. So we talked and drew in my journal. She was so sweet. We also met a boy named Jesus. He’s supposed to be selling things but he just wants to
hang out. And he loves spider man, so we hang out with Jesus a lot. He’ not a very good salesman =]

We have sessions every morning and evening. That is a part of Launch, preparing us to fully go out on the mission field. We’ve talked a lot about prophetic prayer and worship, which I’m still trying to grasp my head around. I grew up in a very conservative church, so I’m still processing all of this. I know its of God, I just don’t know if its for me. Its really neat to experience however. I don’t know what God’s doing in my right now, but I’m truly excited to see where He’s going to lead me and what He’s going to do with me. I know I need a change in my lifestyle and attitude, especially in my Faith, so this entire process has been great in challenging me in those areas.

<we´ve found out where we´ll be doing our first ministry. <we´´re going to a town called hue hue. <we´ll be meeting up with a medical missions team. <we head out Saturday. <i´ll definitely blog about it once I get there. <i´m excited to do medical missions because i´m so used to playing with children all the time for mission trips.
