The other night, 33 of my squad mates and I went out to the red light district of Bangkok. My prayer was that we would be light in the darkness.
We talked to fortune tellers, homeless people, shop owners, and random people.
We talked to pimps and madams selling girls. We talked to men selling tickets to peep shows. We talked to men outside the bars and brothel. We talked to prostitutes and reminded them they are beautiful. Some of my teammates “bought” some girls for an hour to have normal conversations, sing karaoke, and remind them they are loved.
We saw curiosity, smiles, hope, darkness and confusion. It was a hard night, but a good night. God IS moving, even when it seems like there would be no way.
