Vietnam

Ministry Summary:
This month, my team was finding unsung heros in Ho Chi Menh City and Da Lat. We researched and found established churches and organizations that AIM could potentially partner with in the future. Day to day looked different daily. We spent a lot of time in listening prayer, coffee meetings with potential contacts and then visiting their ministries. As my team continued to pray during the month, we felt called into the streets to talk to people and just love on them through simple interactions and conversations. I loved meeting so many people in Vietnam. It is a closed country, but I saw the kingdom advancing through their actions and my testimony.

Adventures:
* Rented motorbikes and explored waterfalls in Da Lat
* Had a spa day including a shampoo scalp massage, facial, herbal stem bath, salt scrub, an hour long hot stone massage, and a mani and pedi
* Went on a boat trip and cultural day down the Mekong Delta

What God taught me:
God told me to make the people of Vietnam known. We all desire to be noticed and known by other people which is a way we can share God’s great love.

Ministry Summary:
We had team changes this month. I am now on another amazing team which we call ourselves “Rooted”! This month we taught English at a Youth Development Center, Youth with A Mission (YWAM) base in the afternoons. Everyday, we helped the high school volunteers teach English to the younger kids in the village. The mornings had a variety of projects including moving dirt for a leveled out fresh classroom floor and working in the rice field. We would meet with several people in the village one-on-one to have bible studies and talk about life and faith. It was a great time that challenged me in my faith and what I really believed while being able to be super intentional. We had a few worship nights where I helped lead worship and gave a message.

Adventures:
* Went to Anchor Wat at sunrise
* Went ice skating on Christmas in Phnom Pen

What God taught me:
God taught me to trust, surrender my control and live in the present. I am to be at peace with not knowing my future because what He has planned is good and when I am to know it, He will reveal it.

Ministry Summary:
This past month, my team and I were partnered with a local pastor and his church. The pastor has started a program where high school students from the Hmong Hill Tribe Village can come live in a Christian “boarding home” and get an education, have a place to live and learn about Jesus. We taught English to them daily as well as build relationships with them. We also taught English at a private Catholic school daily. We had random projects around the church and town such as leveling out a new foundation for the church expansion, playing with the kids in the Hmong Village, and helping out other missionaries and pastors in different things. I was able to teach band for a few days at the local high school. Check out my last blog on that experience! This month we learned the art of thinking on our feet to lead games and songs on the spot for groups of kids or adults.

Adventures:
* Went to an elephant sanctuary where we fed, bathed and went on a walk with the elephants in their natural surroundings.
* Went to Chiang Rai’s flower festival
* Saw the overlook of Phu Chi Fa
* Saw the Bangkok New Years fireworks while on a over night train to Chiang Mai

What God taught me:
I live by grace and in the authority of who God is. I am free and forgiven through the grace Jesus poured out on the cross and by that I can live in boldness through the authority of the Holy Spirit living inside of me. It is the same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead. Dude, doesn’t that just get you pumped??

Next up: Nicaragua and Central America!!!
