Its the middle of our World Race Training Camp, Ignition, and we did exactly what the definition of training says. I feel, most of us, are used to the typical short term mission trip training which consists of rehearsing a drama skit, team bonding (going out for dinner at In ‘n Out) and deep prayer (praying quietly to ourselves). Ignition definitely wasn’t the typical short term mission training camp. It was everything that training camp is intended to be. It, so far, has completely prepared our bodies physically for the traveling, our minds for the culture shock, and our hearts for the many different ways we will be meeting the Lord.

We definitely got a great workout this week. We’re five days into the training week and my body is still aching! I thought if you exercise everyday, which we do (every morning at 7 and then some!), that your muscles would get used to it. That’s not happening! I can’t stand up from sitting without hurting. We’re definitely getting a great workout, preparing us for the extraneous traveling, as well as any physical labor required for the ministry we’ll be doing along the way. I am so exhausted

My mind  is so exhausted as well. The first few days were solely focused on our personal issues and our hearts. We grieved our past, we had to actually sit down and reflect on where are hearts were and our relationship with the Lord. I don’t think I can fully explain the amount of emotional stress and pain that everyone had to face, however we must prepare ourselves before we can go out and serve the world. We were given the chance to leave all our grievances at the Cross. I was able to leave behind the issues that I have been carrying around for a while, fully lift them up to the Lord and leave it all behind so that I can give my whole heart to Him, my team, this trip and the people I will be serving.

There are a few other things that have prepared me for my trip, but I don’t want to add them to this blog because I don’t want to scare my parents! I would rather tell them on the phone.

I am so excited for this trip, please please email me if you want to know more =]

cheers!
