Hey everyone!
Well I made it to Lethoso! We traveled around 50 hours to get here but all the teams have made it to their ministry sites safely. I am staying with an amazing host family (Mom, Dad, and 2 girls ages 7 and 9) who are missionaries for an organization called “Beautiful Dream Society.” Here is a link to their website if you would like to check them out. http://www.beautifuldream.tv/ Their ministry focuses on restoring hope to victims who have been trafficked or abandonment. We will begin ministry tomorrow after church. Some of our time will be spent doing devotionals for the 10 kids, ages 5- 18 and the house Moms. These are the orphans at the home, but are referred to as kids because they now have a home and the ladies who take care of the kids. We will help in the classroom for the kid’s school, paint rooms in the house, and just hang out and love on the kids through music, crafts, sports and other random things. We will partner with other ministries including another orphanage that has 70 orphans under the age of 5 and a “street boys” ministry where if the boys agree to go back to their families, they will feed and school them.
Today, our host family took us to a place in South Africa where we were able to hold baby cubs! We held 6 week and 6 month old cubs! How crazy is that?! We saw lots of other animals and had a blast. AND it was only $5.50 in American money to do this!
My team is bonding and becoming more and more united. Thank you so much for the prayers. We are soo excited to start ministry. Please be praying for all of us as we begin and to be open to whatever gifts God would revel and use within us.
