Hello! And thank you so much for checking out my blog. As you can probably guess, I AM GOING ON THE WORLD RACE!!! I had been praying for months that God would lead me to where He wanted me, and I am so confident that He is calling me here. The feeling of peace has been the best reassurance I have received. Well a little about me.
I was born and raised in Aurora, Colorado. I have two loving parents who always showed me the love of Christ. I have an older sister, Amy, who has been married for just about a year now to my favorite brother in law, Patrick. Amy and I were best friends growing up and are still super close. Growing up, we went to church as a family every Sunday, but I do not feel that I really understood what having a relationship with Christ meant until I reached college.

I am a senior at Fort Lewis College in the beautiful mountain town of Durango, Colorado. I am studying vocal music (but I also play the tuba!) and will graduate this spring. My first semester of college, I got involved in the college ministry, Rooted. I remember being challenged by my mentor, Kelsey, to think of what it meant to be a Christian and what a disciple is. Being a Christian was way more than going to church once a week and reciting a memorized prayer at night. Being a disciple is how we are called to live our lives to be the hands and feet of Christ. I felt conviction and love and desired to share with others the love and joy that I was filled with.

This past summer, I was a counselor with a traveling Christian summer camp called Eagle Lake Camps. (If you are reading this and contemplating what you should do for the summer, be a camp counselor. JUST DO IT!) God truly placed me with a camp family who inspired my deepened faith. I learned the simplicity and impact the gospel has on my life. Jesus is freakin awesome man! And He loves us so much, we can not even comprehend it! Whoa!!

I have felt since high school that God has called me to be an ordained pastor in the United Methodist Church. I plan to go to seminary after the race (Not 100% sure which one yet…) and get a Masters in Divinity. I have begun the process of ordination in the United Methodist Church and the sense of peace I mentioned earlier is exactly how I feel.
So what is happening in my life now? Well currently, I am working towards my final semester of college (I can’t believe I am actually saying that…) and taking life as it come. I love baking, singing, tuba-ing, and playing the piano for fun. I also love hanging out with friends every moment I get. I am blessed to be an intern at my local church where I have learned the impact of discipleship. I love meeting up with people, from middle schoolers to peers, to talk about life and discuss the Bible together. God has taught me so much through serving at camp and in different ministries. I am so excited to go and serve the Lord through loving people around the world!
