1. The scent of bug spray is an acceptable perfume and is mildly attractive.

2. No matter how many different angles and attempts, there is no cool way to get out of a tent.
The only thing worse than seeing a camel spider crawl over your stuff is no longer seeing where said spider went.

3. Having a lizard scurry up your chitange is no big deal as long as you have tights on.

4. When people talk about dropping weight, you know they’re not talking about their bodies but their packs.

5. You choose your restaurants not by the quality of food, but the cost of the wifi.

6. When the decision to pray for rain is dependent upon whether or not you have water duty and have to haul water, or if you can deal with one more night of tent flooding.

7. When walking 2miles to get a lollipop is more than reasonable.

8. When you walk to the bathroom with a buddy not so much for the conversation but more for the need for a lookout.

9. When you walk out of the squatty potty super excited that you didn’t pee on your feet… again.

10. You’re convinced that you have a really great tan, until you get a shower.

11. Number 1 priority in choosing an outfit is not so much of how it fits or matches, but how it smells at this current moment.

12. When lusting no longer involves the opposite sex, but has everything to do with food you miss from home.

13. When sleeping in the “Chicken Coop” means your tent is going to stay dry from now on.

14. When you’re no longer concerned about a fire hazard by how many plugs are being utilized just as long as your computer is charging.

15. Your idea of an air-conditioned taxi is a small pick-up truck that can hold at least 25 people and 1 on the roof, along with a few sacks of maze and fresh mangos.

A Chitange is a traditional wrap skirt worn by women in Africa. This “skirt” acts as a towel/blanket/child-holder/rope/covering/headwrap; the list goes on…

We are having such a blast this month for all squad month. I am so blessed to be a part of a squad that can find humor and joy in difficult circumstances. From hauling water a mile, to toilets with no toilet seats, language barriers, BIG bugs, and different cuisine this month has had it’s challenges, but we’ve also had some pretty awesome Jesus moments with each other. The squad that fights FOR each other in the spiritual realm is the one that goes beyond friends and into family.
Thank you friends and family for your prayers and support. June is my final deadline, if you would like to partner with me in loving this world and bringing hope to some of the darkest places, please email me and I will tell you how. 🙂 I love you all so much!!!!
