I don’t even know what to write about this. I can’t even comprehend it quite yet.

I will be working with a bunch of girls at a place called The Well. It is in the red light district of Bang Kok. The Well is a place that ministers to prostitutes and those who have chose to leave prostitution. I have no idea what this ministry will look like other than that we will be walking the streets and going into bars trying to befriend the girls enough to invite them to come to The Well.

From what we have been told, the streets are lined with girls, scantily dressed, waiting for their next cleint. Inside the bars, the girls are lined up with numbers so the customers can place and order. In the taxis, you can fill out and order card choosing what services you want, what age you want, and more disgusting details than I care to write about.

Many of the women are not regulars. They come and work the streets once a month or however often they need to do it to get by. It is the best paying job around, and hard to resist when you are desperate to feed your kids. Other women are owned by the bars or by pimps. Some of them were kidnapped or sold into slavery by desperate relatives.

Kids are forced into the sex trade as young as 5 years old. People travel here just to pay somebody money to explore unrestrained sexual immorality. Can you imagine that? I can’t even wrap my brain around that yet. I am not looking forward to seeing it, but I desperately want to bring these girls new hope.

I could go on and on about this, but until I actually get there it would all just be second hand information. The six of us will be moving in to a Bible school near The Well on Tuesday. I can’t wait to get there and get started, but my heart is heavy and I dread what I know I will see.

Please be in prayer for us and for these women and kids, as well as the men and women that come here as customers. They all need a huge revelation of God’s love and grace, and a good dose of truth. We need your support for this because it is a very tough place to be.

I will update you as I can, but also understand that what I can share will be limited due to the sensitive nature and saftey issues involved. Ask God to speak to you about His heart for this country and for these people. Then pray, pray, pray.
