I had a few more kids today. The weather finally warmed up again. It was good to have some of the kids back that had missed a few days. We also had a new boy come.

Since it was the last day, we spent a lot more time singing and reviewing all of the stories by doing skits. We handed out the hats and gloves that were donated for the kids. They loved it. It was great to see them all walking around with hats on.

We did a short class today, and made wordless books to review the gospel message. It was a good way to review the colors we used to make the bracelets earlier. I talked about what a missionary is, and told them that they can use the books to tell other people about Jesus and be missionaries in their own towns. And maybe someday they will travel the world like I am to tell people about Jesus.

They all did pretty good at taking turns standing up and “teaching” about the colors in the book. The new kid knew a lot about the Bible, and had a lot of good comments and questions. He loved to stand up and talk about what he knew, so we talked about a lot of other things that would not have come up otherwise.

He asked how Jesus could live in our heart if he died on the cross. That gave me a great opportunity to talk about the trinity and how Jesus was raised from the dead. I could not get them all to listen, but even if it was for that one boy it was a good discussion.

After our short class, we all went out to the REC field to play some games. We did relays, obstacle courses, ball tosses, and some other silly games. They had fun, but there was also a lot of chaos. The kids were a little restless today, and it was a struggle to get them to pay attention or cooperate, but we still had a good time.

I know they were sad that it was the last day, and I am sad that I probably won’t see them again. I got to give a lot of hugs today, and they need all the hugs they can get. I am exhausted from the week, and glad it is over, but I will miss those kids.

I don’t know what role I want to do for next weeks camp. It might be nice to do something different, but you never know if it will be better or worse. At least I kind of know what to expect from a class of 12 year olds now. I guess God will put me where He wants me to teach me what I need to learn. For now, I am thankful for a little rest.
