Mallorie and I spent 6hrs on Saturday getting our hair braided. It was a great time to hang out and do something fun. There is nothing quite like sitting in a chair for several hours having other people push and pull your head around in order to tie in plastic extensions. But it’s a good opportunity to sit and talk with the women, and it was fun to go in with hair at my shoulders and come out with hair at my waist.

I have gotten my hair braided every time I have been to Afica, but this is by far the longest and heaviest it has been yet. I think it weighs at least 5lbs. My neck gets a little tired by the end of the day. One of these days I will have to trim it for a shorter style that is lighter. I’ll have a little fun experimenting with different lengths until I decide to take it out. Hey, why not it’s plastic!
