So what do you do with a 12 hour layover in London?
There were several options, so we had to do our best to see as much as possible without spending too much money. If you have ever been to London, you know how challanging that is. The pound is currently about equal to $2US. So when you see that ice cream for 4 pounds it looks like a good deal, until you remember that it really costs $8.
We decided our best bet was to take the tube (subway) into London from the airport, and then take the red bus tour around town. We were planning on viewing the city from the London Eye (huge ferris wheel), until we realized it would coust almost $40. The bus worked out really well, and also included a boat tour.
We hopped on and off the bus to see the major sights such as Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, Westminister Abbey, the London Tower, the Tower Bridge, and lots of other things. We ate lunch in a little English Pub. It was all a lot of fun. The boat tour gave us another view from the water. It was a pretty good way to spend a 12 hours.
I don’t have time to load photos now, but maybe I’ll add them later.
