Whether its meeting a friend to have a heart to heart or listening to a live band, Inman Perk is the place to be. There is also a Starbucks nearby just to get away for a while.
Walking a 5K.
We have a team preparing to go to Kenya. Part of that includes raising funds, so they held a 5K. It was so much fun going out with our community to support them! The funny thing is that I won second place in my age bracket and I walked about 90% of it…I’m guessing that there weren’t too many 30-40 year olds in the race:)
Dinner with the roommates.
Some nights all I have to do is sit in the kitchen all night to get my social fill. As my roomies go in and out for dinner I just sit and talk to them for hours! Plus it seems like a regular thing to meet new people. Whether its a friend of a friend, someone new at work or meeting a stranger at Walmart, everyone is so friendly!
Going to the lake house for church.
The small, intimate time of fellowship is always refreshing. Whether it’s soaking in prayer and worship, a speaker from the community sharing, or we go out to the community to build relationships (we went to a nursing home one week to love on those who can’t make it to church) we always leave feeling renewed and ready to face the next week.
Learning to play the guitar.
Four of the six that live with me have a guitar and want to learn how to play it better. I love being able to live in a community that so many people know how to play and are willing to help. Plus, that leads to more worship nights all around the area!
Going to the Philippines!
The highlight of my life recently has been going to visit the P squad in the Philippines. I love each and every one of them and soaked in every moment I got to spend with them. I didn’t want to sleep because time was too short. I am already looking forward to the time I get to spend with them at the end of May for their final debrief!

Monday morning worship.
I used to hate going to work on Monday mornings, now it is my favorite part of the week. Everyone working at AIM gathers to pray and worship before starting our week. Sometimes a speaker comes with a designated word, but most of the time we just wait and listen to what God is saying to us at that specific moment. It’s always good!
The 9-5 work week.
I love hearing the stories of the people who are getting ready to go on the World Race or a Real Life trip. I also get to encourage those who are discouraged, need prayer or just want to hear what the World Race is really like. I not only pour life into them but they also return the encouragement and edification.
Prayer in my walk-in closet.
This might sound super spiritual, ya know, “But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father which is in secret; and your Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly. Matthew 6:6. But honestly it’s just the quietest and most convenient place to go when living in a house with 5 other girls and visitors in and out all the time. I can write in my journal, read, pray, worship or just write a blog and no one comes in to look for me.
Working on my Kingdom Dream.
There will be a blog about this to come, so I don’t want to give anything away:) But if you have a Kingdom Dream you can go to the Kingdom Dreams web site to fill out a form and submit your dreams to people who will know how to connect you with a network to help you fulfill them!
