We have been off of the race for about a month and a half. I know that being at home is different, but it seems that I left some things on the race. Things that need to be brought with us.
Every month on the race, within the first day or two of being in a new place we would do some kind of prayer walk. We would walk around the house praying for safety, walk around the area of the ministries we were involved in, or walk around neighborhoods praying.
When I got home it was comfortable. We pray as a family. We pray for dinner. We pray when there is some kind of need. But at the same time I became complacent. I can’t remember the last time I did a prayer walk through my house, or in my neighborhood.
When I got down here I gathered together with my squad mates. I love them so much. We have prayed and worshiped. But one thing I didn’t think about was prayer walking through this house and at the office where we have been training. It didn’t really come to mind until today.
Saturday when we got home from our first day of training, we found out that a water pipe had burst in the cabin where five of the girls are staying. Yesterday we got a message that Jeff Hylton and their oldest son, Brooks, has H1N1. Today Melissa woke up with a headache and an achey body. Others have had headaches that have driven them to distraction.
Today we got to class and worshiped like every day. My mind was not all there. I was distracted and sometime in the middle of worship I realized it. I started praying and asking God why I was distracted. That’s when God revealed to me what was going on. We are in the middle of a battle and our enemy is scared because what is happening is such a good thing.
The things we are learning in Project Searchlight are dangerous to the enemy. We are learning how we can bring Kingdom to earth! That stirs things up. We prayed about it as a small group. Later on tonight we were gathered because Seth and Karen were telling their story to us. Afterwards Seth stopped us before we all went our different ways. We took the time to pray for all that is going on around us.
Dreams that bring light to dark places are huge. We can not back down when hard times and struggles come upon us. We are on the right track and we are excited to see what is to come. We will stand our ground when the enemy attacks! That means we need to be constantly praying for each other. Pray for protection over the area. We also need to vulnerable and tell each other when we are struggling. It’s not always in the form of sickness. Most of the time the enemy attacks with doubt, fear, things from our past that immobilize us, and lies. We need to be speaking words of life into each other with encouragement and things that build up. We need to be interceeding for each other at all times.
I know it needs to be more of a habit in my life. Intentionality is something I need to work on, especially in prayer. In class today, Bruce Dawson said that we only live up to 25% of our capacity. I believe that. There is so much more that we could offer with our lives.
Pray for us here in Gainseville! We have so much more learning to do. We have so many more dreams to be awakened to. We have so much more life that God wants us to live! Thanks for being such a great support!
