The moment we got here people have told us that we don’t fit in. It’s nothing new, we haven’t fit in anywhere we have been this year; but you would think that in a place that is almost completely white we would blend in. The university students we are working with have made it clear that we look like Americans. Our clothes and shoes just aren’t as nice as the people of Odessa. They wear formal clothes when going to work, to play and on any other occasion. When people started talking to us in Russian, we found that we fit in a little more than the university students think. I’ve been wanting to buy a coat and have looked all over for something in my price range and finally found the perfect little black trench. It’s very cute and very European. With that coat on I know I fit in, but one of the university students kept saying how we look like Americans. After some time he finally answered why we look like Americans…because we smile, laugh, sing and dance going down the streets of Odessa! How can we help it?!?! We have the joy of the Lord overflowing from our hearts. Does the joy of the Lord overflow from your heart so much that people can see a difference in your face?
