It started on August 2, 1967 on a very hot, muggy day in New Orleans when my mom gave birth to me.  To hear her tell it, it was the hottest, muggiest day that EVER existed anywhere on earth EVER!  🙂   For those of you who don’t know me, you can see I’ve dated myself and am a wee bit older than most going on this trip.  Though I I don’t feel much older than 25 and if you ask my friends and family they say I act about that too (to help those of you who are math challenged, I’m 42).

FUN FACTS ABOUT ME:
– I grew up in Detroit, but lived in Hawaii for year
– I taught for 3 years but didn’t like it.  So I ended up in the nonprofit business in a very round about way
– My parents are Dennis and Melodie and I have a brother Jon and my sister in law Chris
– I have 4 nieces and 1 nephew (well – kinda – long story I’d be happy to share with you)
– I’m a bit of an adrenaline junky!
– I have been skydiving and can’t wait to do it again
– I went white water rafting and it was GREAT
– I ran the marathon for the first and most likely last time in October 2008
– I LOVE ice cream – best thing in the entire world
– I love to read
– Most people are surprised to find out that I cross stitch and like to scrapbook
– Being outdoors and playing sports are the bomb
– I am NOT a girly girl
– I am excited to see what God has planned over the next year

As for the future?  Only God knows what will be next.  I hope to go back to the nonprofit business but since He’s placed me on this radical path I have learned not to take more than a couple days at a time.  He has a plan and I am excited to see what it might be.
