We’ve made it to Thailand! Our month last month in the Philippines was incredible. A few highlights from the Philippines were hiking the Taal Volcano (which is the second most active volcano in the Philippines), eating delicious french fries from Potato Corner (and having a gym to work them off!), riding in jeepneys, and waking up on Friday mornings to Zumba in the street. While working at Kids International Ministries (KIM), I got to spend time with the children in the nursery at the children’s home and participate in feedings in the impoverished areas surrounding Manila. I’m excited to say that God has really opened my heart up for toddlers this month. Previously I found myself not having patience for them, but maybe one day I will want a toddler of my own!
Many changes have taken place since we’ve made it to Thailand. Before heading to our designated ministries we had a week of debrief in Pattaya, which is on the coast. It was a wonderful week of rest where we got to celebrate how far we had come and was a time when our mentors could pour into us before continuing on. We stayed in a brand-new hostel with air conditioned bedrooms, ate awesome Thai food, and got to spend time together as an entire squad. At the end of the week, new squad leaders were raised up and we were placed on new teams. I’m on a team with five other amazing women who will (and already are) push me and help me grow in boldness and confidence, and I’m so excited to spend the next few months with them. Our team is named Team Fidelity with Markelle Prince, Kelsea Johns, Danielle Foucher, Jenny Kuehni, and Jordyn Sheffield as our team leader.
