Instead of serving in South Africa like the rest of the 3rd Gen A Squad, God had plans for my team. My team and I were doing Unsung Heroes month, seeking contacts for the World Race to partner with,  and He wanted my team and I to enjoy and explore all of his goodness in Botswana ( I also made a few sweet memories in Zimbabwe and Zambia!) Below are some of my favorite moments from this month…. ENJOY!

…hearing from Ray “Ok, so we aren’t going to SA, we’re going to Botswana!” and then screaming for joy…

…celebrating Botswana’s 48th Independence Day ( independence from the British) with the staff in Debonair’s Pizza….

…meeting KB at the Grand Royal Lodge and sharing my peanut butter sandwich with her…

… having devos and meetings in the Grand Royal Lodge….

…interviewing two young women about Botswana’s youth and their desires for the future…

…in the middle of writing receipts and balancing out the finances, saying, “Jesus, I need you right now.” ( and He came.)

…being welcomed to ACTS church, eating lunch with them, and singing, “Hayo Matata” ( the lyrics, in Setswana, translated into English are, “With God, there are no worries.”) …

…playing The Animal Game with KC (from ACTS Church)…

…entering Francistown and meeting Pastor Buckley and his wife, Kristen…

… meeting Mel and hearing her “I’M DEBT FREE!” story…

…hanging out with the youth in Francistown and playing The Animal Game with them…

…going up Monarch Hill with Mel and taking many pictures….

… cooking and eating dinner by tube and candle lights….

…eating brownies and ice cream made by Kristen….

…arriving in Kasane safe and sound…..

… going on  a game drive ( a day – long safari) with my incredible team and seeing ALL types of animals…

… having a braii ( BBQ) under the Scorpio constellation and the Milky Way…

… playing, painting, and dancing with kiddos from Children of the Elephants…

…learning to play the Marimba ( they look like big xylophones)….

…learning a Setswana song with the kiddos from Children of the Elephants…

… talking with Bonnie in the church….

…seeing Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and enjoying a beer in Zambia….

…arriving in Maun safe and sound….

…celebrating Paul’s birthday with the CHEWIEST steak and delicious chocolate cake…

…talking with Vlad, a nice man from NYC who asked me some incredible heart and spirit –stirring questions…

…commencing our team’s super feedback, dancing/moving like our game drive animals to Carly Jespen’s “Call Me Maybe” (Note: I told each member of my team that they reminded me of a certain animal that we saw during our game drive, and then, my wonderful teammate Amanda, gave me an animal too! We had a blast dancing and grooving like fools! )

Botswana has been such a blessing. This incredible country has been one of my favorites on the Race. The Lord has showed up in mighty, incredible ways this month. As a team, we wrote down some incredibly big requests from God ( i.e. free lodging, free meals, a free game drive, providing someone with a meal,  finding contacts in a different country) and He’s showed up and showed off, big time. He answered all of those prayers.  We serve a mighty, mighty God indeed.

I am continuing to make a request of the Lord….. to be fully funded. I have to raise a mere $690.00  to be fully funded, and instead of striving and trying, I’m holding hard and fast to the promise that God will provide this  money for my account. If you’d like to help me stay on the Race and donate to my account, you can click the  “Support Me!” button near the green bar on my page.

Thanks for your time, dear reader. I love you a lot!
