The other day, I was amazed to find that I’ve posted 121 blogs since April 2013.
It’s kind of funny how my blog story started out…
To very briefly summarize, when I was writing my first blogs, before the World Race began, I was afraid to write them. Many fears clustered in my mind, as I began to wonder…”Will my posts be good enough?” “What will people think about my blog?” “What will people who don’t believe in Jesus think of me when they read my blog?”
Then Training Camp happened. During one of the last days, I went to a workshop about blogging (I had no intention of getting anything out of it, I was just going to fill time.) During the workshop, a World Race alum, Stephanie May, shared tips and tricks about how to blog effectively.
Thankfully, I had a chance to talk to her after her talk. Before I knew it, I was sharing my fears about blogging. After I shared my fears, she looked at me straight in the eyes and spoke some words to me that changed my life forever. She said, “Kim, you have great ideas, they’re vaild, and they’re meant to be shared. They need to be shared. You can do it.”
As soon as she shared that, things became clear, crystal clear.
I had to face my fear head – on and continue to blog.
As challenging, hard and simultaneously fun as these posts have been to write,
they aren’t just for me. They’re for you too.
So I blog.
I blog to encourage, inspire, share, be bold, ask questions, reflect, celebrate, and inform.
I blog to share all of the twists and turns in my life with you the best I can in this space and time with the tools I’ve got. I wish I could sit down with you and, over large cups of coffee and tea have long heart to hearts with you, but I can’t right now. I need to be here on the World Race, and I still need to raise $2,640.00 in order to stay on it. (If you’d like to donate to my World Race account, please click here. )
Through blogging, I’ve learned more than ever to trust God that the words I type ARE valid and important, and that these posts are reaching people who need to read them. When I pray for my readers ( yes, I pray for you,) I pray that fears in your life would disappear, Hope would rise, Courage would be birthed, and all of my readers’ lives, including your very life, would be touched by the love of God. For example…
When God is giving me cramazing ( ½ crazy ½ amazing ) things in my life, whether it’s a blessing or a teaching, I want to celebrate and share them. Maybe He’s been doing the same thing (or He’s about to do it, and getting you ready for it!)
When God gives me strength to share my struggles and sufferings, hopefully it is an indicator for you to know that if you’re going through it too, you’re not going through it alone, and that God will help you through it.
When I post about different countries, my blog might be the only thing you’ve read or will ever read about that country.
If you’ve had a nudge in your gut or a stirring in your heart to start a blog, (or even start your blog up again,) don’t wait another day. Start a blog (for free!) through either of these sites: weebly or wordpress They’re all great. Start today.
You have great ideas, they’re vaild, and they’re meant to be shared. They need to be shared. You can do it.
Below are my top favorite 10 blog posts that I’ve written. Please grab a cup of something you love to drink and enjoy reading! And please comment! I’d love to hear from you!
Thank you so much for your time, attention, and participation.
With His Everlasting Love,
-Kim
