A few weeks ago, Adventures in Missions challenged the World Racers with a blog challenge.

All it said was: Thankfulness, Joy and Jesus.

All month long I wanted to write this long, detailed piece, but instead,  I’ve got this:

Thankfulness.

Firstly, acknowledging you CAN have a thankful heart in all of your circumstances IS possible. It’s not easy, but it’s possible. Sometimes my heart churns with sadness when I open up facebook, and the majority of my news feeds are people’s complaints. I’m not trying to diminish people’s problems, life is challenging, but indulge me for a second: imagine, for a moment, if every single person posted in their status what they were thankful for? Imagine how wonderful it would be to read statuses!

Choosing to be grateful, and then ACTIVELY being thankful does more things than I can list in this blog.

It’s one of the hardest and simplest things to do, choosing thankfulness. I believe you can do it.

Joy.

I’ve noticed that when one chooses thankfulness, changes happen in them and to them. One great result of being thankful is having joy in your life. Your shift changes, like when a single beam of light  hits a prism and then the light becomes a rainbow, that’s how many facets of joy you can experience when you’re thankful.

Jesus.

Well, simply put, thankfulness and joy stems from Jesus. Whether you acknowledge it or not, it’s an absolute fact, every time you’ve been thankful, it’s been for something Jesus gave you, because He gives good things. Every time you’ve experienced joy, Jesus gave it to you. See, Jesus, the Son of God and man, knew you before you were even born, and said , “ I want (Your Name) to have my life, a full life, fuller than any poet, artist, scientist, doctor, anyone on earth can try to explain. I love (Your Name) SO incredibly much that I will give my own life so (Your Name) can have it.

If you didn’t already know, Jesus wants you to receive this gift of Life.

A life you can’t even imagine.

Jesus: He’s something to be thankful for and joyful about.
