“Faith is not knowing what the future holds,

but who holds the future.”  – Paul Kirkland

Paul, my teammate, is an incredible man with a heart unlike anyone I’ve ever met in my life (in a GREAT way.) With a passionate, humorous, humble, and courageous spirit, this is a man you should get to know better, so tonight I interviewed him asking him to tell me 3 things about certain aspects of his World Race journey so far…

KIM : Paul, tell me 3 things you’ve seen with your own eyes while on the Race.

PAUL:

  1. I’ve seen the people of Latin America. One of my friend’s names is Christian-  He is funny, loving, welcoming, full of smiles accepting me as I am. When I was in Puerto Barrios, he trusted me and sent me to do the work that needed to be done.
  2. I’ve seen poverty. I’ve seen people who could be described as dirty, stinky, having poor clothing with holes, but I’ve seen them as soft- hearted, tender and loving.
  3. I’ve seen healing.   One day my team and I prayed for a woman who had an infection in her legs. After he prayed for the woman, we prayed for her husband who had cataracts in his eyes. As we were praying,  he began to cry, because he realized his eyes were being healed. He was so loving and thankful that it happened, and the best part was that it was not my team mates and I that did the healing, but it was God that did the healing.

KIM: Paul, tell me 3 specific examples of what God has taught you since Launch. (January 6 – 9, 2014)

PAUL:

  1. To put others before self
  2.  Be content at all times
  3. The yearning I have is foundational for me to do His work.

KIM: Paul, tell me 3 phrases that you want to continue to say to people that you meet while you’re on the World Race.

PAUL:

  1. Faith is not knowing what the future holds but who holds the future.
  2. Contentment starts with discomfort. Discomfort leads to growth.  Growth leads to life.
  3. Potential is one thing you have, and it also resembles a star.  So shine in your life, because you don’t know who’s looking at you.

KIM: Paul, tell me 3 things you’d respond to a supporter who asks, “Why should I support you?”

PAUL:

  1. You’re not supporting me, you’re supporting God.
  2.  You’re supporting the advancement of the kingdom, from every hug to every action given.
  3. Because you’re investing in THE movement that is unstoppable. You’re investing in  the One who created creation. The same God who created this world lives in me, and moves me because I am who I am because the I AM lives  in me.

KIM: Paul, tell me 3 things you’re losing on the Race.

PAUL:

  1. My family
  2. My house/ my bed
  3. My daily routine

KIM: Paul, tell me 3 things you’re gaining on the Race.

PAUL:

  1. An abundance of joy & happiness that only comes from God
  2. Seeing the world and building relationships
  3.  A deeper ability to experience God’s growth in God like never before.

KIM: Paul, tell me 3 things you would say to someone who is considering supporting you.

PAUL:

    1.        Your investment will not come back void

    2.        God will bring reasoning, understanding, peace & joy of your investment in Him.

    3.        God loves a generous giver.
