The following is a true fairy tale about how 50 men and women on the 3rd Generation A – Squad were romanced by the King of Kings on an unforgettable Valentine’s Day!
Once upon a time, the 50 men and women of the World Race 3rd Generation A Squad lived on one property in Talanga, Honduras. A very special day, Valentine’s Day, was around the corner, and the women wanted to bless the men on this special day, and vice versa. The women began to brainstorm of ideas of how to bless the men, and they decided to cook them a special breakfast. The night before Valentine’s Day, all of the women wrote all of the men little notes of encouragement and then placed them in beautifully decorated boxes, one box for each man. On the special day, the men woke up to find a fully prepared meal of eggs, sausage and French toast, complete with chilled orange juice in lovely glasses to the side of their plates. One of the women prayed over the men, and asked the Lord to bless each of them in a new and special way. After their meal, the men were fascinated and surprised to find a beautifully decorated box with 38 notes of encouragement from their lovely sisters. The men then stayed behind and did not attend ministry, but instead, began to prepare a surprise that the women of the A- Squad would surely not forget.
Throughout the day, the women of the A Squad served with full and excited hearts, but when they returned home, they found a surprise indeed: Absolutely NO woman could enter the kitchen! One of the men of the A Squad popped his head out tp the porch and told the women to dress up nicely, so they did.
Hours passed, and soon the nicely – dressed women of the A Squad began to get a little hangry ( that’s when one becomes so hungry they get a little angry) while they were waiting on the back porch. Right before the hanger was about to get out of control, one man stuck his head out the door and asked for the first woman’s hand. He escorted her into the kitchen. About a minute later, another man stuck his head and hand out and asked to take her hand. Suddenly, the women’s “hanger” dissipated, and curiosity began to bubble up inside each of them.
One woman on the A Squad in particular, Kimberly, was in for a real treat. Before she knew it, she was next to go in to the kitchen, and what happened next was amazing. One of the men from the A Squad asked to take her hand and then escorted her into the kitchen. Holding her breath, she took her first steps into the kitchen. What she saw took what little breath she had away completely. Tea lights, hundreds of them, lined the kitchen counter and spread out over four carefully decorated tables in the kitchen/ dining room. Kimberly gasped in adoration, and finally began to take a couple of steps after her escort encouraged her to do so.
Suddenly, her escort stopped Kimberly from walking, stood straight and tall, and with a big smile on his face, announced at the top of his lungs, “ANNOUNCING, PRINCESS KIMBERLY!” Kimberly couldn’t believe it. She indeed was (and always had been) a princess but she didn’t really know it, it didn’t really click in her heart until that very moment. Sure, she had heard others, her sisters, occasionally used that word, ‘princess’ to describe her when they were praying over her, but to hear it declared boldly, especially from her brothers in Christ, finally allowed Princess Kimberly to realize that she always was, and indeed still is the King of King’s Princess.
Princess Kimberly’s escort guided her to her seat, where she found a rose (a nice satin one) and a note from the men of the A Squad. Each word in the note was clearly thought about and written so very lovingly, she was sure the men of the A-Squad carefully asked the Lord for words to write to the dear Princess. The note said,
“Kim – One amazing woman of God who shines in many ways. You are a prayer warrior and sooooo loving. You are so caring, we acknowledge each and every time you fight for someone. Please continue to do that and continue to live by the Spirit. Daily we look you in the eyes and can see the deep woman of God in you. Continue being the encouraging woman that you are as well. Please know that you are so loved. Not only God loves you so much but use A -Men love Kim so much. You’re absolutely worthy in our eyes. Your beauty is like no other Kim. You are Loved.”
(Editor’s Comment: Princess Kimberly wants every single woman to know that they too are Princesses of the King of Kings, and encourages them to ask the King of Kings what being one of His Princesses is all about.)
Now, getting back to the story, little did the women know that during the whole day, the men were preparing an exquisite meal: to start, freshly squeezed lemonade (with lemons that the men picked by hand and juiced….by hand) followed by an absolutely delicious assortment of stir fired vegetables over a pile of cheesy rice. Princess Kimberly wasn’t a big fan of steak, so the men made sure that the steak tips weren’t on her plate, but she was sure the other women on the squad would surely enjoy it. After all of the women were seated, one man prayed for the women, and asked the Lord to continue to pour his Precious Love on each of them. All of the women, including Princess Kimberly, enjoyed every bite of the meal AND the delectable desert, a warm chocolate chip cookie dough/ brownie concoction, topped with vanilla ice cream. As the women enjoyed their meal, the men presented a funny video of all of the men being their original and hilarious selves.
Just when the men thought the night was over, the women of A –Squad threw a curve ball and told the men that the women had prepared a scavenger hunt for them, and they had a few minutes to put some shoes on, grab their head lamps (since night had already fallen) and then head out the door.
Quickly the women on the A Squad assembled into their teams, stood at their stations on and near the property, and prepared themselves for the men to come and participate in the hunt. The creative women of the A Squad presented the men with a different surprise at each station, first a step, then a piñata, then impersonations of all of the men, then a rap, then encouraging words, then lyrics changed from the song “Super Bass” to encouraging words, then awards/badges, then a “Men of God” boot camp session, and finally, a foot washing. The women had a blast blessing the men with this fun bonding experience, and the men of the A Squad were truly touched and moved by the women’s kind gestures and displays of the King of King’s love.
Although it was only Princess Kimberly who could clearly express how moved she was by all of the events during the whole day, she made a safe assessment, based on others’ facial expressions and comments, that this Valentine’s Day was one the most memorable, most Christ’s – Love- filled Valentine’s Day that the men and women of A Squad experienced.
And they all continue to live their great stories for the rest of the World Race and happily ever after!
